That's right, but are you aware that that's what the whole field in spirituality does, from the lowliest scamster to the most revered teacher? Do you understand that if there is nobody asleep, then there is noone awake and that there is absolutely nothing there, literally nothing to hope for regarding 'knowing' in spirituality? The whole point is not to get conned by the fake spiritual teachers. But rather to expand your perception and therefore experience of what's actually happening in Life. Don't give anyone permission to determine how you should feel. The Aristocracy did that at the Spiritual Teachers forum, by creating an unconscious, intolerant, and angry mob. (Completely unconsciously though) And we can see how well that's worked out... Yes, a lot of the unconscious, intolerant, angry ones were banned and joined a new forum.

Theo: if you can show me that you can wake up from something in particular and that is called waking up, feel free to do so. I implied there is nothing to wake up from with this message. Yes you're right. It's waking up to, not waking up from.

If most are 'pretending to be asleep', then everybody is awake. You have some interesting but familiar logic that has you concluding that therefore nobody is awake. As such, finding a teacher who's no longer pretending might possibly dissolve the pretense. Show me a teacher who is not pretending. If all day is day, and there is no day or night, then there is no day either. It's just usual stuff with no need to name. There is nobody pretending to be asleep per se, more than others. There are some that are pretending that everybody else is asleep, though. As far as I know, no teacher is pretending to be asleep (That would be rather self defeating for a teacher) ,though some are pretending to be awake.

Simple enough, no?I agree with the aristocracy comment as well. No. You're asking someone to give proof that teacher is authentic. It's good fodder for hundreds of pages of posts, but it is not simple.

The teacher who is not fake is the one who can put you in touch with the truth of your mortality, experentially and not intellectually.

That means that if you are seeking a life of fulfilment, joy, peace and well being within yourself, don't try to BS yourself in some way. Especially falling for someones Phil-osophy. You must do the right thing even if it's uncomfortable, otherwise it doesn't work.

So do you know where all those extraneous thoughts came from? Or what they are made of? Sincerely I don't know...hehe That they are extraneous is another (extraneous maybe?) thought of yours. So is the extraneous thought that you're missing the point...
