I don't know how covid19 first got started. I assume it was created at the biological lab in Wuhan, then accidentally released.. but China is an authoritarian government without a free press, so you can't 'believe' their official story.. you have to use other means (like science and investigative techniques) to uncover as many facts as you can, then logically connect the dots and weave together an understanding of what you think happened. Knowing that as more information comes available your understanding will evolve..
But it does get released (intentionally, some say, without evidence) and spreads across the globe.. Makes a lot of people sick, and kills a bunch. Thus people start freaking out. Governments and health agencies get involved. Practical steps like mask wearing and social distancing are implemented..
Seems perfectly natural for people to then say "hey big pharma.. can you come up with something to help us beat this thing?"
