Nailed it.  What one prefers in their personal off forum life, regarding social encounters is an entirely different animal than what one prefers on forum. Most folks I socialize with are shocked to hear that I engage in spiritual debate on a forum. |

Firstly, it might actually encourage discussion involving disagreement rather than sharing, and it may be seen as challenging the moderators. Both of which are dangerous in the current controlled environment.  |

That is really just yet another phrase, another way of pointing to the phenomenal world as appearance only, all appearing things and all ideas being empty of Truth.....aka..."Not Knowing." I find it odd ZD how you are okay with certain terms that point to that emptiness...to that no-thingness.....and yet, not okay with others. I think it depends more upon who is using the term.  |

Doesn't the fact that you'd have to come over here to gab about it, indicate that that is precisely what's going on? Get too deep into over on ST, and you're at the very least gonna get slapped...get your post moved...get a warning. When that goes on long enough, folks start to get conditioned. Coming to this forum to get deeper into a contentious subject, is evidence of just that.

I'd agree that if someone thinks they're being treated harshly, or even short of that, singled out for scrutiny by the authorities, that they might hesitate or otherwise modulate what they post. Been on both sides of that over time, as I'm sure you have as well. My experience with this at ST, which is by far about the only place I've ever become a fixture, is that the situation is sorta' like the seasons. Ain't never gonna' stay the same.
Now, what this forum has seemed to have proven out, is that if there are differences that one or more party finds irreconcilable, then there's always an ultimate recourse available.  |

To the extent that any of us might find reefs intolerable then there's no point in not writing that over on ST - or at least some sort of other expression of rebellion, which I have done on various occasions over the years. Now, what you have to keep in mind is that reefs took the moderation talk private. You can opine that I'm not pursuing the dialog over there because I'm afraid of repercussions but that's not the case. It's a futile topic over there, reefs and zd have both made it clear over the years that they're not interested in the coversationsations, and I'm not interested in trying to change their minds even if I thought that was a possibility. |

Isn't it obvious to you they might as well change ST to Ramakrishna Paramahansa et al Discussion Forum. Reefs & ZD have interests to protect (sell books). Any discussion/conversation that threatens the integrity of the authors of these books are given warnings or be banned |
