Repeating someone's post is what I mean by subjugating ones thinking to an others authority: Enigmas. It's why we seek out folks through religion, philosophy, politics and spirituality to lead us, so that we don't have to do the important work of thinking for our self. I fully agree with you that it's important to see when/if we are subjugating our own seeing/knowing to another's authority. I written quite extensively on that subject myself both on forum and off. Re-quoting a post that resonates with and underscores my own understanding is a very different animal than subjugating myself to another's teachings. I was actually smack dab in the middle of writing an article on what it means to 'accept what is,' when I read E's post. In one sentence, he summed up my point. I've liked a few of your posts in the past and indicated that. Was I subjugating myself in those instances too...? Or is it just when someone likes something of someone whom you dislike or disagree with that assert subjugation?

So this thread, and any quote, is about subjugation to authority? You might want to rethink that one. Yup. You've finally whipped me into submission....hypnotized me into argreement or something...I am forever under your spell and will never, ever argue with you again. (haha....don't bet on it! )

One can answer those kinds of questions themselves without the help of anyone, especially from those who are even more confused than they are. It's a matter of defying other's authority not blindly following it.

One can answer those kinds of questions themselves without the help of anyone, especially from those who are even more confused than they are. It's a matter of defying other's authority not blindly following it. I absolutely agree that one can answer or resolve any question that arises, all on their own. When I began chanelling back in my late teens/early 20's, I purposefully avoided reading material that might taint the purity of what I was receiving, because I was well aware that that could happen. For those who are actively seeking answers or clarity, I always advise self inquiry over following the teachings of others, but there is also a point where a particular teacher or teaching enters our sphere of experience, and if it resonates, it would be pretty silly to purposefully turn away from it, just because it is appearing to us via 'other.' E did not help me answer any questions.....rather, he wrote something that resonated with what I already knew. Fwiw, I don't regard E to be any more an authority than I on the particular issue I'm agreeing with him on here. We're seeing eye to eye, and that really seems to bug you. If/when I start to argue with him again, I suspect you will be quite happy.

When one chooses to be lead by Phil Beaumont or ones pastor or someone else, one does so out of confusion and so ones leaders are confused. This is what is happening in the world today. It's only the callous, the dull minded and the indifferent who aren't able to see this fact. That's quite a bit of power there you're assigning to Phil. Can you see that?

If you look at what I'm saying carefully, and not your interpretation or what you think I'm saying, you will see that it's not about assigning power at all. But blindly following someone because one is confused. If you can't see that then maybe taking a nap would be a better and more beneficial way of spending your time.

The only problem is that seeking gratification, isn't the same as seeking happiness... Hehe Adios
