As the waking story goes, yes, continuity seems to be built-in...that said, if it is true that anything is possible in terms of what might appear, then yes, even that far-fetched scenario, where suddenly that level of experienced continuity ceases, is also possible.

I'm sure there are also many who would say that the larger, more encompassing realization that "the entirety of perceivables...the entire world/universe...all that arises in experience, is empty of it's own inherent existence...a relative appearance only",...that there is no separation...that all appearance arises within/to, dependent upon the abiding ground, was also, useless....an example of extreme cognitive dissonance....not actually practiced not applicable to everyday life. And that would be absolutely false...as it is that realization that equals freedom!
The seeing that appearing others who apparently have discrete, individuated experiences is merely a singular facet of that overall, more encompassing seeing of the world as arising dependent upon the ground that abides it...gives rise to it.....gives it temporary arising/appearance.

Being that you are the mod with an arm-long of forum rules against taunting/baiting....do you really think it's good form to continue to drag someone into your conversations whom you have banned from the forum several years ago for challenging your position, and whom you are now still continuing to block from registering on ST?
I continue to invite you here to directly engage, and you've not yet taken me up on that...yet you continue with increasing frequency to specifically mention me and talk about me and my supposed positions in your posts.
The fact that you do that, but then deny me the opportunity to directly answer to your assertions about me...? Not the hallmark of integrity, that's for damned sure.

As tantalizing as it may be for the peep to think so, the apprehension of Truth is NOT a matter of "following the logic." It's often the smarter/most logical of minds that put up the biggest fight and refuse to lay down the intellectual sword...which is what's gotta happen for the shift in seeing that is SR.
That shift reveals the entirety of perceivables to be empty and devoid of inherent existence. (That means that ultimately, there is no SVP...which means, there are no "actual" perceiving/experiencing/conscious entities...no actual doers doing stuff).
This is why it's such a strange thing when you suggest those who've you've labelled as solipsists to be engaging others as though they are "actual" perceivers.
How would you know the difference between engagement with what has been realized to be apparent people who apparently perceive, vs. engaging with what is thought to be "an actual" perceiver?
Do you have any sense of what the difference would look like? I sure don't. And yet, intrinsically, the experience of such IS different...but that difference does not JUST involve appearing persons...it applies to the entirety of the phenomenal world....every-thing!
You've plucked out that singular appearance.....people..to make a big deal of it....when really, it's the entire shiteree...the entire kit-n-kaboodle....ALL perceivables that fall under "empty and devoid of inherent existence...appearance only."

As I recall, Peter wasn't trying to talk me out of it.....he'd actually acknowledged it was possible...was the one who told me that your IP appeared to be a proxy server. Those are used when someone is trying to conceal their identity/location. Now....why would you want to do that I wonder..?  ...then again, it's been a few years ago now... that may have been ZD who told me about the proxy IP dealy...regardless...someone who was in a position to see your IP, shared that tid-bit. |

Perhaps.....Reefs can be irritating at times, no doubt.  I see an important difference between finding a forum poster irritating vs. being 'hurt' by them....feeling hurt/deeply upset, that kind of thing. That actually says about his enlightened status.
