Yes, farmer and many like him seem to think that we can go back in time to something like the Obama, Bush or Clinton years at this point. This is just getting started. I understand why Trump angers people - and we've talked about this before, you know even better than I, first hand. And there is an underlying broad sweep of history happening as well.
So we have a charismatic populist who talks in terms that clearly define who it is that he's opposing, so, we could even say that he's divisive. Certainly, he's divisive in that it seems that most people either love'em or hate'em. His agenda is nationalist, and it is globalist and international factions that he identifies as his primary opponents. The elites think they've seen this movie before, and, in fact, if you look at various political artifacts, such as the constitutions of the modern nations of Germany and Japan, and if you look at various social artifacts such as the anti-American/family/traditionalist rhetoric that permeates education and entertainment, and if you listen to what the Davosites say out loud and in public about the "Great Reset", it's rather obvious they've been planning and working against what they perceive as the threat of fascism even for decades now since before I was born. And if you survey the sweep of history, I guess I have to tip my hat to them that it's been as long as it has since WWII, and I, like everyone else has benefited from that sustained period of relative global peace. But, sadly, power corrupts, always has tended to consolidate at the top at the expense of the general populace, and those who fight hard against something inevitably become what they are fighting against.
I mean .. c'mon man, here's the deal: after a summer of nearly nonstop American "Krystalnacht"'s ... talk about noseblind: Some if not many or most of the social justice warriors really are convinced that they're in the right. It's a very deep unconscious personal trance. Now, they have a point that some of the maga-folk are in the same boat, no doubt, but two competing delusions will never make for clarity! What's perhaps even the most fascinating is that the people who oppose Trump seem completely blind to the biggest piece of the neo-fascist puzzle that's missing: he actively tried and succeeded in preventing war and pulling back from previously established military entanglements. They rail against the man while all the while seeming to miss the fact that they are the ones on the side of big money, and large, collusive and monopolistic industry, which are the defining characteristics of fascism.
Except that's not what I think and your public lies about me slander the farmer brand and thusly I demand you cease and desist. People often imagine and accept things that aren't true. But I demand the truth.

An excellent summation. Was just talking about the bolded...must take some wild mental shenanigans to gloss over that one, but it's happening. sorry no, it was a shit summation, and an example of what manifests when you spend years putting nonsense in your head

Except that's not what I think and your public lies about me slander the farmer brand and thusly I demand you cease and desist. People often imagine and accept things that aren't true. But I demand the truth. .. nah, I choose to litigate!
The only thing I wrote about you personally was that "farmer and many like him seem to think that we can go back in time to something like the Obama, Bush or Clinton years at this point." A well-established affirmative defense against the claim of slander is the truth, and I can prove that this is the truth.

Sure, fine, except I don't and wouldn't think that we can go back in time to something like the Obama, Bush or Clinton years at this point. What does that even mean? I prefer to stay a little closer to what's happening today.

I prefer to stay a little closer to what's happening today. Well, only you can say what's going on in your mind, and the only thing I wrote about yours was that it seemed to me that you wanted things to go back to the future. I figured that because you'd said that you thought things were going to get better and then got nostalgic for Obama.
If I tried I'm sure I could get quotes from the never-Trumper's saying exactly what I've perceived. About them. But if you don't feel that way then I stand corrected.

"The most important problems we face are complex, and require sustained attention. But we don't speak in terms of nuance or complexity. Is that by accident? It's because our minds have been entrained to expect shorter and shorter bite-sized bits." - Tristan Harris
