I'm liking the Lopez posts. Who is this guy? yeah, me too. "lopezcabellero" to be more exact. ( a 'lil lazy on my part) I think he also posted under the name "Jason," as well as a few others previously on ST. Laffy?? You're usually up on this stuff... Oh, Jason. Friend not foe. Not usually the case on ST.

I'm liking the Lopez posts. Who is this guy? I'm pretty sure you knew his real name once ... the guy who did the "mittenhead" video like 5+ years ago, pm me if that doesn't ring a bell.

The fact that winning/losing even became paramount means ego was already well in play. The holding to the I sense and the sense of the game playing in the background, is itself an egoic mind-game. And nothing wrong with that, just important to see it for what it is.

In other words, spiritual seekers don't "really" want what they say they want. A perfect example of E's 'split-mind' (a term he coined that has recently been hi-jacked by ZD & Reefs over on ST to describe something different).
Yes, but it goes much deeper. You're missing the obvious; The seeker who resists looking within does not really want the end of the seeker. Far better then, to inquire into the supposed 'desire to awaken' itself.
A good look into that will reveal that what the seeker 'really' wants is to feel better....to experience a greater sense of relative peace. The good news is--relative peace and engagement in practice do often go hand in hand....there really can be a 'relatively, better experience,' had, when the person becomes more conscious.
I don't get why more teachers, like yourself, don't focus more upon that. Instead you aim for nondual realization....awakening...SR, which is completely out of the experience of the person, because it = the absence of the person.
A seekers feelings illuminated by the light of awareness will most surely reveal that what he's really after is not liberation from the dream but rather, a better, more enjoyable dream. Waking up isn't for everyone. A relatively better dream is a perfectly good goal for a seeker to have.
The very idea of a seeker actually having a desire to 'awaken to see through the seeker,' is a complete and utter nonsense.
Again, you're kidding yourself if you think there's ever an SVP/seeker who genuinely, strongly and sincerely 'desires' the end of itself. AT best, a seeker can desire for clarity, but so long as a seeker remains, he has no real sense of what ultimate 'clarity' actually is.
Dealing with desires and fears is psychology.....self help....sometimes, New Age/spirituality. Again, nothing at all wrong with that focus...a good one for all seekers with strong desires and fears....it's just not a focus that has anything to do with SR/awakening/Truth.

Not only is it 'enough,' to notice,' anything beyond that (an undoing/doing of any kind to supposedly remedy that) will be nothing more than a mind game that arises hand in hand with an erroneously imagined doer.
I wonder, are you also noticing the overlay of judgment inherent in the very idea that perhaps something should be done/undone?
Again, thoughts per se are not the problem....imagined separation IS. It's imagined separation that's behind the judgment of the noticed heaviness, the noticing of mind moving into stories that garner interest, while mechanical operations (cleaning, preparing) unfold.
Unfortunately, getting rid of imagined separation is not in the hands of the imagined person...it requires a shift beyond. Thus, the next best thing really is being as conscious as possible of mind's machinations. This too though, even though it may appear to be, not in the hands of the person. However where there is sincere, 'personal' interest in such, looking/noticing will happen.
A life lived being highly, consciously aware of mind's machinations = an experience of greater relative peace and as I keep saying, that is nothing at all to sneeze at. No person really wants to see through his personhood.

So.....you attend scheduled events of specific spiritual teachers, in person, and enjoy challenging the views they present that don't ring true to you.... Rather rich indeed coming from a dude that will not tolerate folks challenging his views, on a discussion forum. ...so intolerant in fact, that he even banishes folks who persist in doing so.

Apparently not very far at all.... Seriously? No taboo against saying anything on the forum one wants to say.....whatever is said is "open to challenge"? The very fact of this forum says bull-shit on that one!

Precisely. Maybe you should do some inquiry on that idea the next time you are packing for one of your week-long satsang, spiritual teacher retreats. I know you 'think' you go to those things simply because you like them...have fun at them....but obviously, you're still seeking for something and just not willing to admit it to yourself.
