Post SR, one does not cease to engage with the story or to find aspects of the story interesting or important, but it does mean he no longer fully 'buys into' the story. Which means, he sees the story for a story, and sees that what gives rise to the story, what he is, is not a thing appearing within the story.
What does this mean in terms of day to day, moment to moment living of life? It means that stories of woe no longer have the power to fully suck me in...it means that even though I might engage with a story of woe to the degree where I find myself motivated to act in a particular way, I never lose sight of the inherent emptiness of the story content...I never lose sight that all of it, is just an empty appearance....a dream of sorts.
And that absence of fully 'buying in', that continued awareness that all that appears is arising to/within that which I am, means that the Peace of being abides alongside all story content. Regardless of what's appearing, even in times where engagement with the story content goes deeper than others, the light of awareness remains constant. This is what is meant by 'freedom'...by the 'end of suffering'.

One who has 'bought into' the story, will look at unpleasant news stories and conclude that "the world" needs to be healed....that something is going terribly wrong....that perhaps a major overhaul of the world's systems needs to happen, and along with that, all sorts of finger pointing at what others should be doing to make that happen, whereas one who engages with the story, absent buying into it, might still look at those unpleasant news stories at times, but he never becomes captivated by any of them to the degree that he loses sight of the transient, ever-changing, constantly shifting nature of all experiential content...even those stories that might tug at his heart, he deeply knows to be absent substance, absent Truthiness, thus, if a desire arises for change, he doesn't spend any more time looking 'at' the story of woe that gave rise to that desire, rather, he rests in the light of awareness, the knowing that what he actually is is the love/peace that the story of woe appears to be lacking.

You are watching a movie, this movies carries everything that's comes under your perceiving. Movie decides the way you feel to the given particular situation. We both May feel completely different to the given situation.

You are watching a movie, this movies carries everything that's comes under your perceiving. Movie decides the way you feel to the given particular situation. We both May feel completely different to the given situation. You've described precisely how it is when one is still identified with the content of the movie. But once that identification is no longer in play, the happenings within the movie no longer have the power to suck you in (which really means, you've realized that what you are is not confined to the movie...that the 'me' character that appears within the movie, is itself just an appearance to that which I really am). Even the arising feelings that are conditional upon what happens within the movie, are themselves, appearances within the movie....so long as you are not identified with them, they remain mere arisings and don't have the power to obscure the peace of being. Grief, despair, rage, terror, (those emotions indicative of resistance that go so deep as to obliterate the peace of being while they're in play) depend upon identification with the movie character. It's only when I'm thinking I'm the character and am oblivious to the Truth of Being that I can get so wrapped up in the movie. Yes, If/when one is still identified with the movie content, the movie content does have the power to pull you from peace, but absent that identification, the movie has lost all such power.
