Fancy meeting you here . Do you come here often? . Attachment is attachment in true tenkatology fashion . Loving your kids is an attachment through identity . You give a sh!te about them and you will do everything to protect them .. If you feel as if they are someone/thing to save and to protect, then, well, erm, you know .. there someone/thing worth saving .. Hello Tenka..welcome! The talk about non-attachment in spiritual teachings is imo not to do away with stuff like a parent's very normal and natural tendency to love and care about their children, it's addressing the unnatural 'grasping and clinging,' the senseless striving to hold on to that which changes, essentially what's being addressed is the delusion that that which changes (form) can be other than what it is. Indeed though, sometimes the line between what would be deemed a normal natural attachment vs. grasping/clinging, can get a bit muddy. Long time no see . I see it more that there requires an attachment in order to attach to the grasping and the clinging . Mud only sticks to that which it can stick too . If your reflection is sound enough, then mud sticks . You need the foundation in other words for an attachment to be made . self identified is the foundation .

A want for control. It is usually accompanied by a kind of mental effort or rigidity, the holding of a mental energy. Maybe .. Butt as said to figs, the identification has been made and without the attachment there wouldn't even be a maybe baby .. or I don't know .. it would be woof woof .

So attachment is attachment, and feeling there's something to save means it seems there's something to save? Someone/thing that is worth saving is someone/thing worth saving . If one wasn't attached to that which is worth saving then one wouldn't be saving that someone/thing . Try saying that 10 times quickly after a few beers .

No, non-attachment, or rather not identifying, can be either intellectual or it can be experienced. A person can be fully involved experientially in an activity and yet not identify themselves as the body/mind that the activity is happening to.Or it can be a belief of the mind that when one is in conversation with others that they are non- attached, tolerant, not playing the one upmanship game, and not identifying with thier mind and body. It is the latter which amounts to bullsh*tting oneself that is the hallmark of the Aristocracy on ST. In my opinion. Sent from my SM-T210R using Tapatalk Nah, and you have already identified the non identified as a person .. When you are in are sitting in your car in rush hour traffic, it is a different experience then when flying over it in an airplane and peacefully watching it way down below you, isn't it?

I think doing can happen from a place of mentally gripping it or absent the gripping. The doing is of a different quality.....and thats what non attachment describes....a quality of doing.

Yep, I notice differences relating to experiences had . It's just that what you relate yourself to be notices the differences .

That doesn't mean you can't change a flat tire on the side of the road if you have to... Your attached to the notion that you can be present and change a flat tyre even though your not attached or identified . It's not possible because you are already in attach mode and identified mode in order to attain notions in reflection of what you relate tyres to be . You know what a tyre is based upon you know what you are in reflection of it . It's like acknowledging that you are human and then saying I am not attached to humanity . You have already made the attachment in order to say your unattached and not identified . It's the pilgrims cart before the horse thingy again ..
