The metaphors used in Nonduality pointers vary, but within each lies a similar thread; What's being indicated in all good ones, is an existent, fundamental singularity re: the unchanging and the temporal...between the ground and expressions within it.
Along with an indicator that the unchanging existently remains primal and essential, never actually "becoming limited/bounded," as appearance suggests, lies an acknowledgement of fundamental singularity.
Popular metaphors include as pointers, wave/ocean, movie screen/movie content/unfolding drama, dreamer/dream. I've become particularly fond lately of the reference to a bus and a driver. It offers the suggestion of a primary ground of existence that lies behind unfolding experience....a place of seeing that remains primary (bus driver) that puts the personal viewpoint along with all other content, nicely in the 'back-seat', without denying inclusion.
None of the metaphors used to point are perfect...mere attempts to try to conceptualize the non-conceptual.
I think when speaking to seekers, it can be important to mix them up....you just never know which pointer might 'spark' a shift in seeing.

Metaphors are great. One of my favorite has to be the wave ocean. However, I’d be really curious to see whether anyone had actually fallen into clarity from a metaphor pointer.

Yeah, would love to hear feedback on that! I will say that while experiencing prolonged periods "I've lost it," whereby there's a falling back into the dream after a glimmer....where there were more extended periods of 'out' than 'in' kinda thing, the movie screen metaphor seemed to be helpful in terms of 'shifting back to Awareness as primary' at least for a bit. That said, anytime a specific 'idea' is necessary or relied upon for freedom, it cannot be said that full SR/awakening is the case. Wherever there is reliance upon 'something known,' we're still essentially asleep in the dream.
