What really is meant by the term favored by LOA teachings, "alignment"? Is it something different than Nonduality's "Natural state"?
I don't see how it could be.
Even in LOA talk, there is a 'fundamental/deeper' connotation to the term "alignment" beyond a mere temporal, appearing emotion/feeling. So long as there is no mental overlay heaped upon an arising feeling, even a feeling of 'not liking' something, that feeling will simply arise and the easily flow on through. Even AH is very clear that a moment of 'yuck/no' that arises and then passes, is not going to throw one into manifestational hell.
Absent the false idea/imagining of separation, feelings of discord/dislike only go so deep and they don't stick. Thus, they are not in any way problematic in that they somehow 'obscure' freedom...peace....fundamental perfection...fundamental 'joy of being.'
There are always going to be things appearing in experience that are liked and things/stuff that is not liked. There is no problem in acknowledging that something that is happening is not personally 'liked.'
Out of alignment is when emotional discord goes deep and anchors in in a way that mars any deeper sense of well-being/goodness.
I don't see that happening with you at this time at all....if anything, you seem to have really connected with that deep/inner sense, regardless of all the shit going on and regardless of your awareness that it is shit...
The idea that it is somehow wrong 'not to like' something that's arising, is just silly....the nature of experience is up and down...some stuff we like, others not so much, but if there is deeper realization of the 'inherent/fundamental' perfection of the whole 'ride itself,' then nothing is really going 'out of alignment' with anything else.

Andrew:
Alignment is a moment in which we feel authentically good about the subject of our attention. So when I think about government, I'm almost always out of alignment lol. If I see people in masks waving Ukraine flags, I'm probably going to be out of alignment. I'm generally out of alignment on the subject of money.
I'm out of alignment a fair bit. It's okay. In my experience, sometimes there's more misalignment in fighting the misalignment. There's lessons and valid experience in misalignment, and I'll work through it at my own pace. And I think there are some subjects that engender misalignment for me, so there will never be a time when I think about 'government' and think...'Oh Joy!'
It's about standards. I have high standards. I sense my capacities and potentials (or what 'spirit' is capable of through me). And I honour those standards, without fighting them.
All 'personal' stuff obviously, but you aren't entirely a no-personer. If you were, I wouldn't have bothered giving you my understanding.
In the case of Ramana/Niz, they would have had some misaligned subjects. At a guess, probably relating to poverty, after all they lived in India, in austere conditions. They would have seen a lot of sh/t. Maybe their government annoyed them too lol. I genuinely don't think less of them as teachers/mentors/gurus for their bits of misalignment, I consider them extraordinary teachers of peace, and their spirituality was such that the idea of 'alignment' would have been irrelevant to them, as I guess it is for you.
