The continued suggestion that seeing the appearance of sentience in appearing bodies as empty, and the resultant 'not knowing,' SHOULD result in the end of engaging appearing people's sentience, has a grave misconception at it's root.
There is a vast difference between getting sucked back into the dream completely, (falling back asleep), vs. engagement with/interest in dream-content.
No doubt about it, the dream & all it's dream-stuff/dream-content is compelling. Even upon awakening, the dream continues to capture attention....just no longer to the degree of obscuring presence.
Going along with the appearance of people who experience, does indeed involve a degree of captivation of attention by the dream, but it need not mean completely being sucked back in, falling back asleep, loss of abidance in awareness. As awareness remains primary (the place from which seeing is happening) there's no danger of the dream completely capturing and obscuring.
So....if it has been realized that people and their sentience are all empty appearance only, (thus, an absence of knowing beyond that they are appearing)why would I continue to treat them as if they are experiencing?
That really is the same question as: If it's been realized that the entire content of the dream is empty and devoid of inherent existence, and beyond the knowing that it's all arising/appearing, 'not knowing' applies to it all, why would I continue to engage or be interested in any of it?
The answer is; To NOT engage what appears, would require an intermediary with some reason for NOT engaging it. Absent that, the dream and it's content, me character and all her likes/dislikes, continues on unfolding, capturing attention and interest, none of it a problem.
From the vantage point of beyond the dream, it's all a play....the me character, appearing people, appearing aliveness and sentience on their part....things, objects, conditions, circumstance, ideas, thoughts, feelings...all of it, dream-stuff...all of it empty and devoid of Truth. No inherent existence to any of it...all arising dependent upon the ground that gives rise to it.

Thanks for that....As I read it through, I wondered if it would make any sense to those reading!

I think that's a large part of the enjoyment of writing about this stuff....trying to point to Truth in the most concise way possible....least amount of words possible, so as not to further muddle things for seekers. I often begin with something very simply stated and then end up with a nest of words....anyway, the aim is always for simplicity, regardless how it turns out!

Thanks for that....As I read it through, I wondered if it would make any sense to those reading! It was hard for me at first as mind and stories grabbed attention and I would question if I even had woken up. This convid story had a big pull. I still do at times think nothing has changed but less so now. Now this post is more where I am at. You helped me get clearer since seeing through the illusion over the weeks. Sailor Bob too has been very helpful. Kat gave me a lovely pointer too, fall in love with the Truth over all else. I’m not your usual seeker who was suffering or had a bad life. My meditation and subconscious reprogramming and healing meant that I was in a good place (I thought), but there is always suffering for a separate ‘I’ character as it is continually looking out there and in a state of lack and dellusion. Now, story still holds attention but awareness pulls it out of the dream swiftly. It is not easy to describe in language, you do a great job Figgles imho.

You are a prime example of the importance of genuine sincere interest in clarity (where you were at!) vs. a hidden interest in pandering to mind.... how auspicious a position that is, when it come to the shift of waking up. When we started talking, you were so obviously ready to let it all go...no ego about any of it either....obviously, even before that, mind's hold had already taken flight....very much a privilege to be witness to the final straw....& love now chatting with someone so clear. Yes...Beauty of a pointer, that one. Thank you! You too!!
