Partly because I spent the best part of a year on a counsellors sofa exploring my conditioning (getting on for 20 years ago now, gosh), I have an interest in self help modalities. Although the counselling was definitely impactful at the time, I came to see it as a clunky and long winded way of dealing with issues. That's not to say that I think therapy should be avoided, but I think there are faster, more effective and cheaper ways to address conditioning issues. Everyone is different and suits different modalities, but I think faster EFT is very good. Its a mix of EFT and NLP. There are hundreds of videos these days, here are a couple of examples. The last one deals with sensitive subject matter, but the shift is amazing, and the method of shift highly amusing. Really shows the power of the technique and also shows that heavy issues don't have to be heavily resolved.

Even though I 'liked' the above, I have sorta mixed feelings about the last one. It's just so weird to me that he over-used the laugh-inducing fart sounds. All I can say is that I hope it truly ends up working out for her without any future problems. I have a feeling that if it was me instead of her going through this 'process' I'd probably like to tell him to stfu. I have a feeling that different clients/patients would react differently to that ploy.

Plus he has been doing it for a long time so also has a good read of people and where they are at. In the case of that lady, it worked out, and I found the change in her physiology from the beginning point to the end point to be quite striking. I don't think this technique promises to clear all problems, it works on changing our conditioning one memory or issue at a time.

I find the drug related ones equally interesting, heroin...cocaine...meth etc. He works with the addicts to shift the craving so they can no longer find it. I'm not saying anyone can just pick it up and do that, he is an expert at what he does, but still....the potential is there for rapid change.

I've just been watching the 2nd one down, the man with panic attacks - he was funny - I like this video better - he really does the method super-fast, and that's great! I myself sometimes get panic attacks, but since studying Buddhism and practicing mindfulness, the panic attacks have almost gone away completely, yay.
My biggest personal problem these days is a next-door neighbor who is very noisy at night (plays tv loud)etc. It's very hard on my heart health because it makes me angry. It's a real challenge to find and stay in a frame of mind where I don't get ticked off. I don't know if this method would be good for it. I think there's potential for it working.
Incidentally, I did used to do EFT and then later NLP - they worked well, but at some point down the line, I just dropped out of doing the exercises.

You may also find after doing the work that new ways of handling it present themselves too...maybe ear muffs! Have you tried gently talking to your neighbour? I love the guy in that video, just a regular guy trying something different. That's really good to hear the positive effects of the Buddhism and mindfulness.

I DID politely ask him on a couple of occasions between the hours of 1:30 and 3:30 but he came across as not giving a flying you know what. Either he or his g/f have been known to knock on the walls in an inane fashion, so they are adults but not very mature-acting...downright childish and mischievous. And weird. The landlord had to ask them to take down this sign they had just outside their door next to this big ashtray and the sign said something like, "Don't effing (spelled out the f word) touch my cigarette butts and then gave their life story (slight exaggeration, heh)! This is definitely one of those cases where the ONLY thing I can do is to change myself. It's not easy! Worst neighbors ever, ha ha! I watched some more of the 2nd video on YouTube and saw all the other ones available.

I'm sure we can all relate to this kind of opportunity! My experience of faster EFT is that after a bunch of tapping has been done, a situation will present itself which normally triggers the old emotional reaction and it feels odd because it is like something is missing. You know what you are accustomed to feeling....but it is not there.

You know what you are accustomed to feeling....but it is not there. It's been a while since I sleuthed around this forum... It's been so long since I used EFT or NLP, I don't know how to do it anymore. What helps the noisy neighbor situation (which continues), I guess with continuing Buddhist leanings, I am becoming more able to ACCEPT the reality and just do what comes to my mind to do - which is to continue on at my desktop, play games, whatev...came in handy last night - I ACCEPT that I can't sleep with all that loudness, so instead of tossing and turning, I get up and go on the computer - and by NOT RESISTING and getting ticked off, I am some how miraculously able to remain calm - with flits of irascibility LoL. I look forward to the time I can THANK my lucky stars for having this test, which boosts my talents - emotionally/psychologically speaking.
