I'm pretty sure this is mostly what's behind the thread lock down.
Lord knows, It ain't the easiet thing to have posts pulled up where you are sayin' the very thing you are practically crucifying others for saying now....particularly when you're someone who can never admit to having changed his view.
Reefs: Not so. When appearances are seen for what they are, separate volitional persons are seen for what they are as well - in one swell foop. It doesn't involve thinking at all. What involves thinking and a great deal of imagination, however, is seeing a human body lying on a sofa and turning that into a person that is sleeping and dreaming.

Reefs: We are talking about the big picture here. And the big picture is that in reality, there are no separate volitional persons. There may be the appearance of separate volitional persons, but that's an illusion.

Reefs: An appearance can't stand by itself. It doesn't exist in its own right. It's like the moon, it only shines with borrowed light but not by itself.

Reefs: There is the appearance of liking, the appearance of ice cream and the appearance of guys. So in this setting, for my part, there will be the appearance of liking vanilla and chocolate.
Will that answer evoke the appearance of slight satisfaction within the appearance called you?

That would imply that there is no constancy of past, present or future time.
And that the universe doesn't exist when I'm not thinking about it, or looking at the sensory mental perception of it.
It also implies, that you don't exist as an alive human being to my(uses the term loosely) awareness, except as the perception of a thought form.
That seems pretty far out there... ;D
Reefs:No. All is well. It's all there as appearance.

Reefs: Right, it's as if everything in between has never actually happened. That's the nature of appearances.

Reefs: Okay. The universe is just an appearance. It cannot stand for itself. It borrows its existence from something else that can stand for itself. And that 'something' has many names. Some even call it 'nothing'.
And seeing that clearly, that's probably what you might call 'non-dual' experience.

Reefs: But there are people. They are just not real, appearance only.
