Yeah, I get it. This is my 'unsee juice,': "That was just a contrived pic...a bit of performance art (off-color indeed), and no one was actually harmed in the process. (The vibrator, or, looks more like a curling iron to me, yikes, isn't really where it appears to be.)" Peeps sensibilities are all over the map. Some people get shocked by extreme sexual practices. Other's don't. Ain't no good nor bad but thinking makes it so. And that (which is another relative hint, within the dream, btw) applies to both the pic, and the negative reactions to the pic, equally, and in kind. That's very true. People inner nature decides whether they are vulnerable to a particular given event.

Would you say that you're vulnerable? Yes, vulnerable to certain extreme events like rapes, child torture and many. You are not ? I'll get back to you, but yes, those would be extremely emotional contexts that might happen. So, you're wondering how someone might look on a "not be affected" and/or "not feel compelled to do anything about it". And, you're looking for an absolute "state of mind" in which the negative effect and the feeling compelled to act might not arise. What's being pointed to is not the "state of mind', but what IS prior to those dualistic patterns of thought, conditioning, and subsequent action that might (probably) play out.
As a way to more objectively think about it, try to detach from the characters a bit. Would conscious peeps commit such acts? Explore where anger doesn't necessarily "have to arise", but thoughts/action can still take place. Nothing to prove/disprove... just Consciousness flowing without any doer.

Conversation now slower here and picking up on st. It's interesting. Even aside from the regulars there, there are a few folks popping up that I would find interesting and easy to discuss with. Invalan, amit, Ouroboros....all good discussers. But the forum isnt for me right now. I've sensed for many years...probably all years....that ZD is the controlling force there, despite the forum presentation of 'easy goingness' and 'flow'. Reefs has really been quite open and honest about his approach, even in his unfairness to you, i found an openness to it. Much like a bouncer in a nightclub, the decision to throw people out of the club isnt always 'fair or right', but you always know where you stand with the bouncer (I'm assuming we've all had the experience of being thrown out lol). And that's fine with me. But ZD owns the club....and I don't find his 'ownership way' to be open and above board on the forum itself.... and even though i can agree with some of his (highly repititious) views, I think it's this undercurrent that disinclines me from talking. I learned early on that arguing with ZD just isn't really an argument i want to have.... he doesnt want to be challenged, and even though i'm an argumentative twat/dick at times, I only want to argue with folks who WANT the argument. There's something i might say on the other thread about 'meaning/perception', but now's not the time.

There's something i might say on the other thread about 'meaning/perception', but now's not the time. Yes, I see some new members have shown up and their interests seem to be more on the 'self help/New Agey/philosophy,' side, thus, it will be interesting to see how things unfold. Reefs 'says' the forum is mostly a nonduality forum, but the bulk of his posts lately have also been new agey/self help as well, with the Seth and Abe-Hicks stuff seemingly of far more interest these days for him/her than Truth-talk. I can see how that would likely appeal to you more than the straight up nonduality convos. But yes, totally agree about ZD. He's the ultimate authority there and not Reefs. & As much as he tries to put forth a pic of himself as flowing easily with whatever presents, he's clearly anything but easy going. There's a rigidity that's clearly evidenced in the way he presents his views and the way he engages that despite all his 'hahahaha's' and descriptions of laughing himself silly. Imo, such evidence also lies in some of the personal stories he's shared regarding his marriage/relationship. There's been a few sharings but one in particular that stands out about a garburetor that kept getting plugged and his blameful attitude and sharp response to his wife for her supposed part in that. & Yes, he's there to be an authority only and has no problem challenging the views of others, but he's not at all open to being challenged and if he is, his ire raises immediately and if he doesn't have a ready answer to the other's challenge, he resorts to "let's agree to disagree," which is code for; You stop responding to me, but I'm free to keep challenging your assertion in posts going forward as I speak to others about you. An interesting character for sure that can stand firm on the idea that such an imbalanced discourse is A-okay.
