Yeah, when I invoke or go along with the term "roller-coaster" re: what remains, what goes, post SR.... that's all I'm referencing as well....preferences/personal values and judgments still being in play post SR/awakening, which means an overall up/down movement of feelings, accordingly. That movement can become very shallow and for the most part go unnoticed unless there is an interest in looking at it, but so long as experience continues, that up/down interplay between personal values/judgments and feelings and the up/down, ebbing/flowing of those, will continue.
The difference between pre/post awakening/SR, is that pre, there will be a person who 'tries' to keep an even keel, whereas post, the even keel happens effortlessly.....part and parcel of the impact of SR.

You are perfectly describing here what it means to be (s)elf identified....to identify with the limited, personal perspective.
In SR, 'I am' Awareness, and an expression of this is an appearance that arises within/to, dependent upon that ground of Awareness, the limited viewpoint of the me character.
SR reveals that The person is not actually the source of or 'doer' of 'perceiving/being aware/seeing,'.....apparent person/me character as Source of consciousness/awareness, gets seen through in SR.....a person that perceives, a body/mind that HAS a personal vantage point, remains a facet of the story, but that is couched within a higher seeing that ultimately trumps that, that is beyond/prior to all story facets. The personal perspective and the impersonal stand together, simultaneous, no conflict between them as experience arises, and when experience does not arise, awareness as ground, can and does, stand alone.

SR reveals there is NO "experiencer,".....experience is arising, but there is no "someone/something" that is sourcing/giving rise to that experience. All of experience is just happening.....ultimately to no one/no thing.

Yup...just some parts of the string going up...other's down...a wiggly-waggly, ebb/flowing sort of design. No need at all to deny it....no importance in not seeing it....no need to avoid seeing it.
The two ends need not be so stark for there to still be play/movement between them.
Regardless of how 'awake' one gets, there is no bucking the fact that life circumstance and feelings/judgments about those, moves up/down. Those movements may indeed become very shallow, but there's still distinction, up/down play.
The term "equanimity" after all, (as a reference to an ongoing state), does not mean a complete absence of variance of feeling/emotion. It's a reference to balance...a less turbulent up/down movement relative to feeling/emotion.
This idea some are trying to put forth that all the ups/down, win some/lose some movements of life disappear post SR, is a good example of Jeff Foster's 'brown-bearism.' It's a denial of experience.

Yup. Very much agree with your interpretation.
And really, who would argue that at the root of an experience of suffering is NOT an unfulfilled, need-based, separation based "desire" for things to be other than what they are?

A peaceful state of being in abiding SR, means focus is naturally, for the most part, centered upon what presently, imminently IS, with little harkening back in memory to past events and little in the way of imagining future events....and that's because the present moment in it's totality, all imminent appearing conditions, are couched in a fundamental acceptance. Mind does not seek beyond the moment at hand, for fulfillment. It's already here....the only "place" it really ever could be.
Absent deep judgments about story content, there's a sense of being able to "read" the "way the winds of the story are blowing/flowing" ...interests/intents that do arise, are congruent with what's already appearing and thus, already well in synch with that intuited trajectory. Despite expectation of the fulfillment of an arising intent, there's an acceptance that nothing is carved in stone...that sometimes surprises happen, and if/when they do, that too is couched in the same fundamental acceptance.

No.
Transcendent seeing that is Prior to/beyond concepts, is not "using a concept" to go beyond concepts. You obviously have zero reference for that "prior to/beyond" shift in seeing and thus, all you can do is to imagine some kind of conceptual position whereby one erroneously believes he's gone beyond concepts.

The convo was about whether or not a driven, ongoing seeking for Truth, for answers to existential questions, equalled a degree of suffering/emotional dis-ease/angst. You and ZD were saying no, that a drive to seek existential Truth can be the equivalent of mere relative curiosity.
What Niz says above is valid. If not for a sense of something being generally, fundamentally amiss with life, what would the 'seeking movement' arise from?
A curiosity to know why the sky is blue is one thing if it simply arises and falls....perhaps pops up once in awhile...but it's entirely different thing if that lack of knowing 'drives' a NEED to find out and that drive to know reigns supreme over all else.
Seeking for Truth has a definite sense of lack/limitation...something missing...wrong....amiss at it's crux. It is a search that has imagined separation at the forefront....it's that unrelenting sense of separation/lack, that drives the need to know.
A mere, idle interest that pops up once & while to know 'why' you are here...or 'why' stuff happens at it does...what's it all about, I would not even categorize as 'seeking for Truth.'
