yikes.. even nicer! Yes, 'being nice' is generally not the first priority of someone who feels persecuted and denied of his civil liberties. That said, he actually does indicate that civil unrest is not something he takes lightly, not something he'd even consider if not for the fact that a tipping point of tyranny, where the need for self preservation/self defense is at hand. My 21 yr. old son is kind to a fault....at age 11, saw a video on factory farming and was so overcome by empathy/compassion, right there and then, went off animal product cold turkey.... has not eaten a single morsel of animal product/meat since. He rescues animals...saves bugs....will bend over backwards to help friends and strangers alike....and yet, is ready and willing to arm up and physically fight in the streets if the tyranny continues to escalate as it seems to be doing. When he announced he wants to get a gun and learn how to shoot....I almost had to pick my jaw up off the floor. For many though, this is what it's coming to. Anytime someone talks about "getting a gun" (presumably to kill other humans) Something has gone off the rails...

Perhaps if the Germans in the 30s had been less 'nice' to their government, and stood up to Hitler, the horrific events of the 40s would not have happened. So you're comparing the state of the current United States government to that of nazism? Is so you're as crazy as the man threatening to kill other Americans.... over a vaccine and mask mandate?? I'm comparing authoritarianism in America (and other countries) now to the early stages of the Social Democrat Party in the 30s.As said, it's better to quell the potential of tyranny sooner rather than later. Personally, I think the mask is more a superficial issue, vax mandates and 'passes', are a big deal. Look at France, Ireland, Cyprus, the Philippines.

But would you say that some wars are more justifiable than others? Did you say that you had spent time in the darn military??!!

I think where my son & the many others like him, is concerned, 'self defense' is more what he has in mind than hunting folks down or instigating things, But yes, folks do get killed when things reach that point of 'war.'

The Office is my favourite (most watched) tv show of the last 20 years. I keep meaning to sit down and finally watch it on Netflix. My daughter's a huge fan and for the past few years, has it on, just playing as background noise in her room, so I've had lots of glimpses...enough to have me very sure I will enjoy it thoroughly!

Yeah it's great. Like your daughter, it's a series I've watched many times. It normally starts with me thinking I'll just watch one random episode in a random season. And then I'll watch the whole lot again, noticing slightly different things each time. Season one is quite poor, they tried to duplicate the British version, which is brilliant in its own right (Ricky Gervais). But it didn't really work. Then season two, they started to do their own thing and it worked much better, so if you do decide to watch it, you might have to 'ride out' season one a bit.
