Seems there are these information silo's that we're all in danger of getting caught in. From what I can tell of the sources I currently favor, there's quite a bit of wishful thinking about the potential for rapid change among those who otherwise see certain grim facts in front of us now for what they are. I'm sure I have a blind spot or two of my own and always will. I have no idea but when the Qlnd Health minister talks about masking 6 year olds, I want to grab a gun… What, to kill somebody, or just to wound them?

You think in black and white? You compartmentalise?? Binary thinking. The brain works differently to the critical thinkers, the questioners….

But yeah it's always more fun to think about what's wrong with "the other guy" isn't it?

The brain works differently to the critical thinkers, the questioners…. In psychology, compartmentalization is defined as a defense mechanism where someone suppresses their thoughts and emotions. It is not always done consciously but this can often justify or defend a person's level of engagement in certain behaviors. This is kind of interesting though. I don't think I supress thoughts.. but I definitely supress expressing all of them in public (which, believe me, is a good thingy)

Genuine questions are always lovely but when you follow that up with a condescending phrase it's hard to know what you mean. but hey, did you say you work as a therapist or something? any expertise or higher learning of note?
