You're not going deep enough with the questions ZD; the real questions that get the crux of it are; Is there a 'what/some-thing' THAT thinks....is there 'a looker'?
You've stopped short in your inquiry....deeper seeing (a profound shift in locus of seeing) reveals that while there is thinking....looking, in actuality, in Truth, the thinker/looker, is absent...nowhere to be found.

If you are seeing a some-thing/a what THAT sees, then you are mistaking a direct delusion for direct seeing. If you are looking from prior to mind...prior to all that appears, there is no seer/thinker to be found. If you find one, you're looking in the wrong direction.

That explains much; So for you then, SR/awakening is an ongoing process....a never-ending stream of one initial/partial glimmer of Truth after another.

You see here ZD...? This is precisely why the distinction between the abiding ground of awareness and that which arises/appears within/to it, must be seen/realized.
Tenka is unable to make the distinction between the unchanging ground of awareness and that which arises within/to it; He conflates the awareness OF an arising thought with "an arising thought."
He is mistaking awareness itself with a an arising thought. Thoughts are appearance only... temporal, impermanent.
Awareness of course, is not a thought....it is prior to mind/minding. "Appearance only," includes all senses, all feeling, all thought, all ideation....any experiential content....even the most awe-inspiring of appearances such as that middle layer you experience/see that you call a 'field of aliveness,' that to you, appears to lie between the unchanging, abiding ground of awareness and apparent objects/things.
Anything at all that "appears" is an expression of the unchanging ground of awareness.....therefore, temporal, changing, impermanent in nature....only the ground of awareness abides...remains constant....unwavering, unchanging.

ZD, here is the perfect Spira video to counter your assertions about "body-knowing," and such, as somehow being related to Truth/Nonduality.
"It is awareness that is aware of experience. It is not the body that is aware of experience. The body is experienced. It does not do the experiencing."
And then of course, in the clarity of seeing that, it's also crystal clear that there can be no absolute knowing that all appearing bodies...all appearing shoes, trees, rocks, socks, paper-clips are experiencing/perceiving.
I know several of you on ST think I spend way too much time on this point, but it really is no small thing. That specific delusion, the one where awareness is attributed to appearing objects as a known property/quality is nothing other than the delusion of separation!
If it were so that awareness truly did arise within appearing things, that would mean that appearing things have separate, inherent existence in their right...or in other words, that they ARE fundamentally separate.

Do you think that tenth ox-herding pic is at all pointing to a person who believes in "The Law Of Attraction" as Truth....who practices deliberate creation...who makes sure he's "in alignment" at all times so that his personal desires for happiness, wealth and health are fulfilled?
ZD, looks like you picked the one, singular post of Reefs out of a multitude, where his main focus was LOA, to comment upon. I'm guessin' you're not gonna even touch on the LOA stuff...? We'll see if there's the integrity there to do so, or not.

Agreed. Now, how about Law of Attraction/Deliberate creation...does that anything to do with Self-realization in your opinion?

Who cares? Being free is not a mind state...not dependent upon a mind state. Mind states are experiential content. Seems ST has turned into a forum that focuses on experiential "content" vs. Truth.

Interesting ZD how both you and Reefs are talking about "states" and yet, you're both ignoring each other's conversations. At present, you're both invoking "Ramana" to specifically talk about his supposed state of being.
You on one hand seem to think he was abidingly in a state of 'non-resistance' whereas Reefs is quite sure that because Ramana had cancer, that for absolute certain indicates a state of deep resistance....an absence of peacefulness...harmony...pretty much anything really than an abiding state of flow, be it shallow or deep, that you are speaking of.
My sense is that it's more important for each of you to avoid possible contention vs. address the fact that your views seem to differ on this.
You have not weighed in at all ZD on that idea that Reefs continues to present (that I recall, anyway)...do you agree or disagree that by virtue of "manifesting cancer," does that PROVE that Ramana was living in head in a state of deep resistance....vibrating lowly.....experiencing feelings very low on the emotional scale?
Could be an interesting conversation if you could rise above your distaste for challenge/controversial discussion.

It would be far more apt then to say that that the achieving of that "special state" & the attachment to it then, that almost did your marriage in, and it was clarity/grace (the seeing that you did not in fact have to leave your day to day life, to go off and seek to try to make that awe-inspiring state permanent) in order for SR/wakefulness/freedom to be.
Just think about it; Those seemingly 'transcendent states,' must really be potent to the person/ego....better than heroin kind of thing....a guy like you, who wasn't even suffering...who apparently loved his family, even willing to contemplate leaving them all just to seek out 'more' of that state...
This is why when it comes to Truth, all "special states"...all "special, mystic, woo-woo experience," needs to be seen for what it is and put in it's place. Those states are NOT necessary to "being abiding awake," and often they are a red-herring...a very, very potent attachment that merely leads the seeker off into the bushes of deeper delusion...
