Oh...I didn't see that! Must have happened behind the scenes, kinda...?

I will say that normally calling someone 'psycho,' would strike me as unnecessarily disparaging, but in this case, you are speaking about someone who has delivered his own share of deeply disparaging remarks over the years. Forums are places where it's pretty normal to expect folks to mirror back the behavior and tone of the other and if someone has made a habit of throwing first punches, as Reefs has, the judgements of those dealing with him are unlikely to be sugar coated.

There does seem to be something really strange happening there. He's always been really mean-spirited and quick to lash out, but now he seems to have done a complete 180 degree turnaround with regards to some of his most deeply held opinions about forum behavior.

In the past when someone would tell him his nastiness and mocking were not necessary, and/or they pointed out that one who mocks those who hold different opinions is absolutely identifying with 'personhood,' he countered that with jeers of "behaviorism and moralism,"....

"Reefs: A relaxed 'live and let live' attitude would become you and your behaviorist cronies much better than this rigid 'my way or the highway' attitude. Just saying."

"The humble business is for moralists. Just be yourself. Let it rip! "

in fact if you do a search on either of those words on the ST forum, all sorts of posts come up, where Reefs is defending his right to treat others in a less than 'decent' way, just because they dare to hold a differing view.

And really, I have nothing at all against someone dramatically shifting their position on such things, if in fact that's what's happened, but the fact that he did not at all explain that he has adopted a whole new outlook on things, oe explained why, or even how he sees his own past behavior that was in every way, counter to what he is now asking others for, is just imo, incredibly arrogant.

He is now expecting others to tow the line and conform to behavior in a way that he himself laughed at in the past.

& That he will not even let anyone question the stark divergence in his outlook on forum behavior now, vs. what it was just a month or so ago, really makes me wonder if he's even acknowledged that divergence to himself.

There is simply no way he can stand by his words of the past regarding forum behavior AND stand by his current position without showing himself to be a huge hypocrite. I think that's why he gave me the warning and shut me down when I posted some past quotes of his that showed a diametrically opposite position to where he now stands. (Reefs: "If a community grows spontaneously then it has a solid basis. But if it is the brainchild of some utopist there's planning involved, protection, keeping out unwanted and that's a recipe for disaster…..")

What is he doing by banning those who don't fit his idea of a good forum member, if not planning and keeping out unwanted people from the forum, so he can mold it to his own liking..?

The whole thing is actually pretty strange. Anyway..haha...gag is off!....I had my rant.

I think what happened is that You, I and a few others were challenging him in ways that he had no rebuttal to...ways that he had no issue with when the shoe was on the other foot, and he just got really angry and figured that becoming a mod was a good way to shut us all down, so he could feel okay again. Sort of like Donald Trump becoming President so he can slash corporate Taxes and save himself a bundle.
