thank you! finally! someone who gets it! Important though to note, that that 'ultimate' view of things does not necessarily mean that the relative view is no longer accessible or engaging. One can be fully capable of getting passionately involved in advocating for relative change, never losing sight of that ultimate view....thus, the arising conditions may still 'challenge,' but will not overwhelm....and there won't be suffering in the face of them. I don't think the qualifier is necessary

The world is now officially certified insane. I just saw a news report on UK TV showing a classroom for 5 year olds being "prepared". The floor areas have been marked out for social distancing and tape has been put across the bookshelves because they don't want the kids to touch the books. WTF!
These books which are handled by kids everyday harbour millions of viruses and bacteria. They always have done and that interaction with books and human beings constantly maintains and strengthens our immune systems. Ask a virologist or immunologist. But you won't hear them because they're not invited to speak on British TV channels or US channels such as CNN who are just peddling fear and hysteria. They now want these kids to live in a bubble. It's fucking insane. But hey, it's only samsara after all.

One thing i can quite confidently say....the unfolding here in the UK in the last 2 months has triggered an encouraging...and quite profound....re-evaluation of values. Even if/when we return to 'business as usual', I think something has changed in our collective consciousness. Thoughts Tenka? I feel that there has been genuine reflection had regarding values and such likes, I would say however that peeps have reacted in different ways . Some have ignored warnings of social distancing and put other's at risk simply because they don't like being told what to do . I read about a teenager who killed herself because she couldn't bear being isolated . I keep hearing that peeps are getting anxiety attacks and cannot cope with going outside their garden gate .. To say generally speaking that it's been profound is one thing but in how that has effected peeps on an individual basis is another . For myself being out of work as well has created an environment where I meditate for 4 hours a day, I keep to myself and simply go to the shop once a week . The grief of my parents passing over came back and I went within myself to dangerous levels of not being able to function in the so called real world lol . In a way this virus situation hasn't made me revalue my values at all it's just created a time for even more isolation and reflection upon myself and the world at large .. I do believe that for some this experience will stay with them for the rest of their lives perhaps similar to those that remember living through the wars but the way of the world isn't ready yet for things going back to basics as I see it . I think the rat race will gain momentum once again and take over most peeps lives, I have already seen the stress creeping back into peeps lives not being able to cope with things going back a little normal .. I think it's going to cause more chaos and stress further down the line . Some I would say would prefer things to be chaotic and normal rather than not .

No, NYS. imo, this is Tucker getting you all fired up for no good reason obviously Cuomo wants you back at the lake as soon as possible, but safely and I'm sure we'd agree on what should be common sense exceptions.. but if you let one do it everybody wants somethingheh heh all that fear porn from the lamestream media has turned you into a science denier.
Andy means well, but the bare fact that he was actually trying to order 15k+ ventilators in March, and said so in his briefings, tells us: (a) he was listening to people who were wrong and (b) he's unwilling to admit that. True enough that he's ultimately responsible for the NY part of the tri-state area, so he actually had a genuine crises to deal with. Also true that he's phasing in the re-openings in recognition that not all areas of the state are the same.
Glad I don't live in Los Angeles, Michigan, or Virginia.

reddit has this running joke/meme .. "my fbi agent ___ when I ___". Turning the settings off is rookie. Gotta cover the lens and the mike, but not with tin foil. Point being, of course, that what you might have thought was a ludicrous conspiracy in the past is a very real possibility, now. I read '84 as a kid, and thought it was a ridiculous idea then. This ain't about the bible. It's about what the authorities could do, if they had the will.
Precisely. In the past I think was gullible, or perhaps innocent enough..?... that I figured no one was actually interested in that degree of control over others, in this day and age, in so called civilized countries. I'm now bitter.....jaded....relatively awake enough now...?....to see that there are indeed apparently those who would love nothing more than to have that degree of control. I came at it from a partially opposite polarity. A guy in a Ted talk I saw summed it up this way: "we're a species of idealists, ruled by psychopaths". So I was always cynical about people in power. But I always figured that real life was ultimately too messy for them to get the level of control they wanted.
But there have been times in history where groups of powerful people have managed to arrange things to their likings, and they're not pretty: the antebellum South of the 'States, feudal Europe and early Imperial Rome, for instance. These are all just the same repeating patterns. Each of those concentrations of power and control were catalyzed by a confluence of social and technological progress. Just like the interwebs, today.

That's not past missteps, that's what's goin' on now.
What are you 'fraid of that we should cower behind towers of hoarded toilet paper still? It's springtime pal. Get outside fer crissakes.

Get outside fer crissakes. um, there's going to be a second wave, which will be especially worse now that the dopes (science deniers) want to prematurely end the guidelines so we've each made our predictions. time will tell. except, your position is unassailable, so in your mind you'll be right no matter what happens. and I think the toilet paper crisis has passed. and I just came in from outside, its chilly this morning
