That's exactly what I said. No, you said you have to sit on your couch and practice being home until you get it right. So why didn't Nisargadatta's guru tell him there was nothing to practice because he was already that? He gave him a mantra and asked him to practice staying with the I am. I needn't repeat what I have already quoted Niz saying about the results from this practice. And I only quote it because it was also my experience. So your words concerning practice have no ring of truth for me and they never will.

Giving someone a mantra to hold onto is silliness when there is awareness/silence-thought-awareness/silence-thought-awareness/silence-thought... taking place throughout the day. All we need to know is the awareness/silence is primary. No need for a mantra or meditation.

What? Seeing-knowing informs the mind that one cannot negate awareness and It cannot be grasped with any mental concept. I don't have to tell Nisargadatta diddly.

To say that all we need to know is that awareness/silence is primary is not enough. Come and see me and I'll teach you how to use a mantra. You'd love it where I live. www.phuketgolfcourse.com/loch-palm-golf-club.htm

If a mantra was necessary, why wouldn't a newborn child have to be issued a mantra at birth?
