If you want to be still, why do you have to practice it? It's effortless to be still, right?

.. why any interest in what they think on the topic, at this point, anyway? Good question. I meant specifically why you, personally, have any interest in what they're saying on the topic, at this point?

I meant specifically why you, personally, have any interest in what they're saying on the topic, at this point? It's no different to let's say a topic of discussion you've had with figgles recently is it? Or any other discussion for that matter. it's a discussion forum isn't it?

But there's a specific pattern that definitely leads me to lose interest in engagement: the same, core conceptual point, where each side starts ridiculing the other. And then the whole thing starts up again in a new cycle after a pause.

It's very individual of course but I would say you are better than me at making an appropriate exit when the cycle of discussion comes to its natural end or hits a brick wall. Andrew is good at that too. I'm naturally more argumentative though not as much as figgles who is the undisputed Queen.

Clarity of mind = Clarity of passion. ..The strongest, clearest points arise off the back of delusion....just the way it is. There is no need to walk away when it's crystal clear what's being argued for is an impersonal Truth against a delusion that is ultimately not the appearing person's fault.
