Very well put.
Gotta say, I find it very strange ZD adopts the "how THIS unfolds cannot be predicted...it's a mystery," stance when it comes to human behaviors that obviously have delusion at their helm, but then somehow knows for absolute certain the future unfolding of the world's environment as though it's carved in stone.

I spose when the discussion is spiritual, it's time to quote the teachers, whether it makes sense or not. I'm really starting to wonder how much of what the teachers teach is really understood, even by the so called enlightened.

That's why I was so appalled by "destroying", or "obliterating the mind." In my world, it's 'renewing' the mind.

It's not mind itself that is destroyed, but it's supremacy. Of course, post SR, mind continues to arise...if not, there'd be no world...no experience at all. I'd say if anything the definition of mind changes post SR from prior to SR, in that it broadens in scope rather than diminishes. It's now seen that the entire gamut of that which arises is 'mind' in contrast to that which lies foundational. In abidance in Being, there is no longer abidance in mind...which again, is is totally different thing from the complete obliteration of mind.

That's because you are identified with mind just like enigma and figgles are and which I'm not in the least bit appalled about.

There is a difference between 'destroying identification with mind,' (although destroy is still not the word I would choose) vs. 'destroying mind. period. '

Okay, but you, sir, may feel you have exquisite hearing with regard to what 'others' are saying, but your listening skills aren't quite up to par. I say that because I'm listening to what you are trying to say, but it's cloaked by the dead past of your memory intervening, which is really somewhat of a half-assed hearing, which has nothing to do with listening. You should not be the least bit appalled by this, either, because eventually you'll get it.

Is that loss of respect coincident with his less than stellar opinion of your reading comprehension? Are the two necessarily connected for you?
