There is no preponderance of attention on awareness in SR. Nothing takes a back seat. When the Self has been realized one is wide awake to everything including the relative. SR is beyond notions of nonduality and duality. You may well be choosing to put your attention on awareness but that's not the natural state. You are doing a practice with your preponderance, the very thing you are so critical of. You should continue to keep going back to awareness, but in SR there are no backseats. Everything is on the front seat. You are conflating a choice to focus upon awareness with actual abidance in/as awareness. I am talking about the latter. When I speak of appearances taking a back-seat, what I am really saying is that no-thing that appears, no concept, thought or idea, is identified with. In the absence of identification, awareness reigns supreme, regardless of what is appearing. Awareness is all there is so there is nothing to reign supreme.

I am attempting to describe what being awake is like. Indeed, all is awareness, and yet, absent the realization of that, what reigns supreme is the appearing world. That's what it means to be fast asleep.....dreaming.

And what of it? Unconditional love for a daughter...or a father, is not dependent upon that knowing.

But, they need not cease for things to get simpler! Seeing them all as inherently empty and devoid of Truth, as appearances only, will do the trick just fine. It's not thoughts per se that clutter things up; It's taking thoughts as something that they are not.

It's not thoughts per se that clutter things up; It's taking thoughts as something that they are not. The problem which is a necessary one, so as to facilitate our journey of higher Consciousness, is the identification/reference for a 'thinker'/entity, that is either taking or not taking thoughts as something that they are not. As the Awareness, that identification/reference for a thinker/entity ceases to be. Therefore, any thoughts that arise are unable to disturb or pull Awareness out of it's inherent freedom.

Any intellectual, logical, hopeful or whatever answer born of the mind and its unconscious fears must deal with the other end of the duality stick (remember E's "no one-ended stick" thingy... I got a kick out of that, hehe). Any progress born of the mind must necessarily/eventually lead to doubt of its truth. Awareness is not an answer; it's a pointer to unboundedness, not entity, purity "from" mind...

Beliefs are just one of a gazillion forms that appear and disappear within Awareness.

She said 'but it's just conceptual for me' I said 'How can that be? You saw it a few weeks ago, and I saw you see it. How did it turn from a realization into a concept that you doubt?' She finally noticed that she was resisting the idea that she would never be able to find herself in the world. So she just kicked that realization to the curb.

Whatever we look at, or perceive, or experience, we are aware of it. When it disappears or changes, we are aware of it. Most people only pay attention to that which comes and goes and not on that which is unchanging and always here.
